Notes Morocco is slightly faded to the spine and much rubbed to edges. Corners are slightly bumped. Marbled papers to the boards are surface scuffed and with some shelf wear. Joints and hinges are sound. Internally a little dust and finger marked with occasional foxing to the margins. Three previous owner’s details to the first prelim. The last is dated 1951.

Hardback. iv, 320pp. Includes 16 page Gothic tale by Mary Shelley; this is the first appearance in print of The Dream which is accompanied by an engraved illustration called Constance, painted by Louisa Sharpe and engraved by Charles Heath. There are over 40 other stories, poems etc in this literary collection including contributions by Lady Emmeline Stuart-Wortley and Marguerite Gardiner, Countess of Blessington who both went on to be editors of the journal in later years. Also includes an essay on the life ands works of Lord Byron, Half bound in maroon leather to spine and corners. Impressed bands with gilt decoration to spine. Marbled papers to boards. 17 engravings plus engraved vignette title and an engraved presentation page.
