Notes The volumes are all clean and tight with no ownership marks. Pages are clean and crisp. Very slightly sunnign to spine, more noticeable on the darker colours. The Return of the Native and Far from the Madding Crowd has some slight scratches to the printed labels on their spines. Else very neat set. slipcase has a some minor scuffs and is slightly and unevenly faded.

Hardback. Full cloth bindings each with the corn dolly illustration to the front. xvii,413+335+413+xix,418+xvi,314+xix,172pp. Introductions by Elspeth Sandys, Bell Mooney, Paul I. Webb, Angela Thirlwell and two by ‘RM’. Woodcuts by Peter Reddick throughout. Maps of Wessex to endpapers. Each volume bound in a different colour with print label and gilt titles to spines. Green slipcase with the Folio Society monogram in gilt.
