Hardback. 324pp. Full green Morocco binding decorated in gilt. By Charlotte Elizabeth (born Browne, then Phelan and later Tonna). English born Charlotte Elizabeth married an Irishman, and began her writing career in Dublin. She wrote extensively on women’s rights as well as in the service of evangelical Protestant thought. Green leather id decorated in gilt to the spine and with decorative deep gilt borders to both boards, the central panel of which has a repeated blind stamped pattern. gilt lettering to spine. Gilt dentelles. Gilt to all edges. Engraved half title by by John Gilbert and engraved by Orrin smith (presumed Harvey Orrin Smith). Illustration to each flower. Ribbon book mark.
