Notes Rubbed to edges and slightly dull. Gilt panels are rubbed. Slightly bumped to corners. Front endpaper split to joint and repaired with archival tape (that does not yellow). Rear endpaper partial split to joint. The binding webbing remains sound so the book holds together. text has a few marks to margins but is generally clean.

Hardback. Pretty, illustrated cloth binding in blue with brightly coloured flower and butterfly design to both the front and the spine and a printed gilt label and black titles again to both frontis and spine. Black white frontis. further illustrations throughout by K. Greenaway. Fanny Lablanche was the daughter of professional signers and the great aunt of the actor Stewart Grainger. She died young in her early 40s in 1885. Inscribed to Dorothy Maynard Evans (later Dame Dorothy Maynard Daukes) from her aunt, 1896.
