Description

Hardback. Beautifully designed box set of this four volume eyewitness account of The Crusades, edited with introductions by Christopher Tyerman. Bound in cream vegetable parchment with lines drawings in a sepia tone picked out lavishly with gilt, each book has a different continuous illustration across both boards and the spine. When together in the slipcase the illustrations run and join the illustrations that cover all three vertical faces of the slipcase. the beautiful design is by Neil Packer. Each volume has a colour frontis and over 20 further plates. Maps xliii + 298pp, xxiv + 494pp, xxix + 444pp, xxx + 498pp.
