Hardback. Third impression. 303pp. Edited and introduced by Peter J. Conradi. Contains letters to her close friend Frank Thompson (older brother of the historian E. P. Thompson) who was murdered in Bulgaria in June 1944 as a captured SOE operative and whose sacrifice is memorialised in the names of a Bulgarian village and aalso train station. Also her love letters to teacher David Hicks. Together with her diaries this is an important insight into both the writer and the times. Facsimile endpapers.
