Mary Powell, originally published as The Maiden and Married Life of Mary Powell, afterwards Mistress Milton is the fictionalised the story of the young first wife of John Milton. Deborah’s Diary is the sequel from the point of view of their daughter Deborah complications from whose birth cost Mary her life. Everyman Library.
