The Sir Gawain story is drawn from the Arthurian legends, translated from the Middle English of the unknown ‘Gawain poet’ by Simon Armitage who also provides an introduction. Simon Armitage went on to be appointed Poet Laureate in 2019. Beautiful edition, illustrated by Diana Sudyka, bound in full red cloth blocked with an illustration by the artist in green and gold and with frontis and 13 further illustrations within. In red slipcase.
