Narrow decorative gilt border to edge of leather and to edge of the leather corners. Gilt to all edges. Illustrated with frontispieces to both volumes each with tissue guard, illustrations to half titles page and plates within (18 additional illustrations to vol I and 10 to vol II). Etchings by W. B. Scott. Large format: 250 by 170mm (9¾ by 6¾ inches).
